Biography
The Headies are an island - a hot, tropical, autonomous punk paradise that is miles removed from the ebbing and flowing trends of a larger music scene. Their latest LP, "Meta-Pop" serves as their declaration of independence from all things lame and a celebration of all things rad (see: raging, Saved By The Bell, B-movies, more raging). It's a narrative that uses minute-long songs to document what it's like to be in a suspended state of adolescent frustration.
So here's what to expect: brain-splitting, frantic bubblegum pop-punk peppered with moments of introspection, falling somewhere between THE RAMONES, BOMB THE MUSIC INDUSTRY!, and TEENAGE BOTTLEROCKET. It's sick. Writing copy for this record is hard because of a nagging temptation to just write "it's sick" five thousand times. Because really, it is, and that's the best way to express that.
