Biography

the excuses are a great rock & roll band hailing from Music City U.S.A., Nashville, TN. This power trio proudly rings out radio-friendly guitar-slinging raspy-voiced bedheaded dirtbag anthems. These fellas were raised on the great rock & roll guitar pop records of the ‘70s and early ‘80s, and the excuses’ music shows it. The band mines much of the same territory as mid-period Replacements with strains of early Police showing through the vocals. Heart on flannel-clad sleeve guitar pop, but with an all grown-up radio sophistication.
the excuses are Jeff Skorik on Stratocaster and spleen-straining singing; Pat Meusel drops mad-melody on bass guitar all while singing backups barefooted; meanwhile Chris Minnis shoves his backbeat right up their you-know-whats. The band is currently celebrating release of its second full-length album Ifya Got Audio, out in mid-July on Sinkhole Texas Inc.
in july of 2014 they released the long awaited follow up release "3000 words." The first single is "HIGH."
