theTONKS is a wizard rock band from New York, NY. They cite the Remus Lupins, Draco and the Malfoys, and the Whomping Willows as prime influences, though Harry and the Potters is the original wizard rock band. Formed in late 2006, their music shows influences from many non-WR bands/artists such as Siouxsie and the Banshees, Prince, Mat Kearney, Evanescence, Blondie, Anouk, Joni Mitchell, Cassie Steele, Big Star, Regina Spektor, & Dispatch. theTONKS is best known, perhaps, for their anonymity. Indeed, none of the members have ever revealed their identities. However, all members are officially registered for Prophecy 2007, and promise to reveal themselves there.
