Tulsa World describes Wighead as "Tulsa's charmingly childish Zappa-esque quirk-pop foursome"
Wighead started in 2001. Just two weird kids, a drum machine, and a four track recorder. With not much better to do, they recorded their first album, "Someone in Texas Loves you" and handed it out to friends around the area.
After taking a short break to work in a different band, they noticed the Tulsa music scene was getting interesting and decided they wanted to be a part of it. With Matthew now on bass they started playing around town with just a drum machine, a box of costumes, props and a pocketful of hope!
Recently, the drum machine ran out of batteries so Tony was asked to replace it. He said yes. Later Matthew was drafted into the War on Drugs and was then unable to play bass anymore, Jeff was asked to replace him. His answer did not matter.
