Biography
Yakknae is a Michigan singer-songwriter and producer of Creole-Filipino descent. Inspired by artists such as Michael Jackson, Destroy Lonely, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, Playboi Carti, Tyler, The Creator, Lil Uzi Vert, Taeyon & Keshi. He originally gained prominence, producing alongside artists such as Triple77, XANAKIN SKYWOK and producer FIDI for the 2020 release "FURSHURE". He has also worked alongside artists such as Datealyfe, Wenszy, Blazedini, Luvbanz, Jequya, Kuriyai and many other rising underground artists, which has helped him craft a unique and refreshing sound. His versatility shines through his dark production style inspired by artists such as Destroy Lonely & Zodiak and his witty songwriting abilities. His biggest hit "Zaza", (featuring "25hearts" member Nix) is a hyper paced-ambient track, sampling the iconic song "Sextape" by Deftones. His latest LP "Yaksworld" is a collabrative project with producer/singer-songwriter Kuriyai. The album features fast paced "Jerk" production produced by Kuriyai and Yakknae which samples many iconic 90s kpop tracks from groups such as Baby V.O.X and S.E.S.
