Brytyjska wokalistka Alison Moyet urodziła się w 1961 roku, Basildon. Karierę muzyczną rozpoczynała w duecie Yazoo, z którym wylansowała w 1982 roku przebój "Only You". Mimo iż zespół długo nie zagościł na rynku muzycznym, to słuchaczom zapadł w pamięć jej głęboki, soulowy głos.
Jako solistka debiutowała albumem "Alf" (1984), który zawierał doskonałe single "Invisible", "All Cried Out" oraz "Love Resurrection" i okazał się wielkim sukcesem nie tylko w Wielkiej Brytanii.
