This has truly been a vintage year, has it not? So many wonderful things. I'm happy you're enjoying them too. Eargasms abound! :-)

It's actually the book I clutch to my breast, which you would have been able to make out had I not blurred the photo. Done to prevent causing psychologically harm to anyone gazing upon my monstrous visage, recoiling in horror and consequently never sleeping soundly again ;-)

Alas, I write with the distressing news that it is currently Me minus Book. But I am working hard to rectify this. I made the glaring error of thinking I could saunter into my local bookshop and pick one up the day after it was published. Having waited all my adult life for it, I suppose a day or two longer will not kill me, but three might ;-)

Thank you, dearest S! I would not say that I do not care for it. It's interesting and would probably sound better in a car on a late night drive. As long as it didn't break down and I was surrounded by pre-menstrual bears while covered in salmon. I would never say I did not care for anything you were thoughtful enough to send. Hope all is well with you.

We are indeed almost halfway through what is fast becoming a wonderful year, musically. And it shows no sign of stopping *nods towards Dropbox* My ears have never felt so happy and loved. Now I'm just waiting for the rest of my body to catch up.

By the looks of it, I'm guessing it was 84/85 maybe, I remember seeing it and it was a Jukebox Jury type thing as I recall, which basically gave Morrissey a platform to entertainingly dismiss virtually everything, as you can no doubt imagine. If I can find it anywhere, I'll send you the link :-D

I'm eagerly awaiting the Kill Uncle reissue, of course there is the usual moaning and whining about what should and shouldn't be on it but everyone cannot possibly be satisfied. Here is Morrissey talking about tea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpegqvfJxTU

It is not often one is thanked for one's droppings :-D Happy you enjoyed them. Similarly, what memories your 80's collection brought to mind for me. It was fun to match the songs with the girls that dumped me while they were playing ;-)

Oh, and Hairdresser On Fire was not on the original UK release anyway so I have not ripped up my favourite cardigan and stamped on my hearing aid in protest at it not being included on the remaster ;-)

Happy you enjoyed the re-vamped Viva Hate. I agree on the sound quality, certainly. I'd go as far as to say that it is perhaps the most noticeably audibly improved remaster I have heard thus far. With regard to the ridiculously tiresome whining and complaining about the 'butchering' and the omission of songs and unbelievably, even the font used on the sleeve, as you say, it's not as if the other versions have been wiped from existence by His fair hand at all. A great many fans, although utterly devoted, do seem to think this gives them carte blanche to pour scorn on any 'tampering' with what they consider sacred, even if it's the bloke that wrote them and can therefore do as he wishes!

It is perpetually pleasing to have one's box so wonderfully stuffed with treats and be able to reciprocate by squeezing delights ever so gently into your little box in return. Brace yourself for there is much more to follow........:-)

My dear S, no, I have not seen the 'Live Forever' movie, nor was I even aware of it's existence! It looks interesting, I'll keep an eye out for it. Britpop is something that sounds far more exciting to read about or look back on than it actually was at the time. I saw the gigs, I bought (most of) the records but some of them have not aged well at all. This: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bad-Vibes-Britpop-Part-Downfall/dp/0434018465 is not only widely regarded as the best account of that time but the best book about music I have ever read.

I did dabble in Spotify for a short while, yes. One can scrobble plays here from it (I expect you know that) but the frustratingly constant adverts threatened to send me over the edge. I decided that there was nothing there I could not find in mp3 form so we have been strangers for a good few months now.

I have seen TIoBM, when it was televised, yeah, so it was some time ago. Would be nice to see it again. One of my all time favourite Mozzer moments is during that programme, when the fan who won the competition to meet him says "thank you, you have made me and many other people so happy" and he says "I didn't mean to" :-D

Goodness gracious me, November the Second? I had no idea that it even existed. Even the songs we know and love extremely well, give me a them in a format in which I did not previously have them and I shall leap upon them and cover them in kisses. And why did he not release the 'No, Dad, I won't be home tomorrow' version of Piccadilly Palare?! Moz moves in a mysterious way, his wonders to perform, yes indeed.

You were perfectly correct, same as the Grimsby setlist below except we got Panic for the encore instead of This Charming Man and People Are The Same Everywhere instead of One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell. Wonderful, wonderful night and I Know It's Over made both my night and my mascara run again.

You bet I swooned, I welled up like a big daft baby during I Know It's Over, had a quick look around and I was by no means the only one. The Man was in a good mood, this always helps. Of all the times I have seen him, this one was up there with the very best.

Embarrassingly, I failed, having both the money and opportunity to get tickets, to go and see Elliott Smith and Nirvana in my home town, thinking: I'll catch them next time. It's the first thing I think about whenever I hear either. Also, when going to see Oasis (I know, I was old enough to know better - I'm much younger now ;-)) Ocean Colour Scene were opening, who I hated with a passion. I spent the time more wisely, or so I thought, in the pub less than a minute away, only to find out later that OCS had cancelled and PULP played instead! You can still make out the mark, 16 years on, from me slapping my forehead repeatedly at my foolishness.

Despite the link not allowing a down-at-heel English ne'er do well like myself to view, I did manage to find them elsewhere. Perfectly lovely they are too. I think we can add me missing Bon Iver when opening at a gig a few years ago to my forthcoming compendium of regrets provisionally titled 'Bronks, What WERE You Thinking?'.
