O Holy Sagga foi formado no ano 1994, por Anderson Carlo e Gustavo Duarte, com uma proposta mais voltada para o thrash metal. Com a entrada de Maurício Queiroz, em 1996, o direcionamento mudou para uma abordagem melódica.
Holy Sagga significa "a busca pelo crescimento interno e aprimoramento pessoal de cada indivíduo", ou, simplesmente, a “saga sagrada”.
Abordando o heavy metal, speed metal e uma forte influência de metal melódico, no início do ano de 2001, a banda deu início às gravações de seu primeiro álbum: “PLANETUDE”.
O disco foi gravado em São Paulo, Brasil e mixado na Alemanha, pelo renomado Sascha Paeth.
Planetude foi muito bem recebido no Brasil e Europa, principalmente no Japão, obtendo ótima classificação pela famosa revista Burrn! Inúmeros shows foram realizados, divulgando de forma marcante o primeiro álbum por todo o Brasil.
Já em 2003, o Holy Sagga esteve nos primeiros lugares das votações da audiência de programas de rádio voltados para o público metal e, no Japão, o álbum é vendido até os dias atuais, tendo ficado entre os dez mais vendidos no país. Ainda neste ano a banda fez vários shows com o Shaman, durante a World Ritual Tour.
Após algum tempo, quatro dos ex-membros da banda optaram por seguir outros caminhos, dando lugar a Caio Siqueira, Adriano Diniz e Udo Stramm.
Em 2008 estes novos integrantes juntamente com Maurício Queiroz estão na fase final das gravações do novo CD da banda, que deve estar nas lojas até o final de 2008.
Holy Sagga was founded in 1994 by Anderson Carlo and Gustavo Duarte that intended to seek the Thrash Metal’s roots however Maurício Queiroz joined the band in 1996 and he brought a melodic soul to the team.
Holy Sagga means "searching for an internal growth to achieve a personal improve or merely the “sacred saga.”
Connecting heavy metal, speed metal and a strong influence of melodic metal they started recordings sessions of the first album called “PLANETUDE” in the beginning of the year 2001.
The album was recorded in São Paulo-Brazil and finished in Germany, by renowned Sascha Paeth.
“Planetude” was very well received in Brazil and Europe mainly in Japan getting an excellent review on the famous Burrn! Countless gigs were booked publishing in an outstanding way the first album for whole Brazil.
In 2003, Holy Sagga earned a new level of admiration getting high-levels in metal contests on metal radio shows by votes of the audience. Currently in Japan “Planetude” is among the Top 10 selling albums and keep available to purchase. Still in this year the band made several gigs alongside Shaman during Ritual World Tour.
Soon after four former-members announced they were leaving the band giving place to Caio Siqueira, Adriano Diniz and Udo Stramm.
In 2008 these new guys are teaming up with Maurício Queiroz getting ready to the final phase of the recordings sessions from the new album and it will reach the stores until the end of 2008.
