v in this music the 'frontal' music shows you 'Pop' elements like catchy hooks, typical chorus, etc. BUT behind this (the instrumentation, the structure, the sounds, etc) shows you unconventional elements, example 'Venus as a Boy' by Björk. 'Water Me' by FKA twigs (experimental structures, but a Pop/R&B melody). 'Lemonade' by Braids.

Doesn't experimentation go against the nature of pop music? Isn't it a bit of an oxymoron when pop music is essentially made to be simplistic with catchy hooks, that's easy to listen to?
