Catherine Pockson is a singer songwriter and composes her songs on piano. Her early associations are with musicians from Kings College School Wimbledon, where she sang in a band with Matt Owens (now in Noah and The Whale) and also performed as Mary Magdalene in the production Jesus Christ Superstar with Marcus Mumford and Ben Lovett from Mumford and Sons.

At Bristol University she once again formed a band with Matt Owens gigging all over the country. Once Matt left Bristol to join Noah and the Whale she then formed her current band: Cat, Max and the Monroes. She also appeared on Bristol Community Radio Station (93.2FM) performing her songs and being interviewed as a result of winning a Jack Daniels singer songwriter competition in January 2008. http://wordofmouthradio.podomatic.com/

Since returning to London she has concentrated on performing as a solo artist playing at venues all over London including: The Troubadour, Proud Galleries, The Half Moon and The Rose Theatre. Recently, she has also collaborated with producer DJ King Cannibal and Angus Blair (formerly of Island Records) to create a new pop project.

Pockson nows plays as one half of Alpines alongside Bob Matthews. Since forming in 2010 the band have supported The Naked and Famous and their track Drive was used by Rankin in a video for fashion designer Hannah Marshall. On March 10th 2012, Alpines supported Florence and the Machine at the Alexandra Palace.
