This tag describes bands that are frequently tagged by some people as metalcore but are actually not metalcore. It is a frequent affliction among groove metal bands such as DevilDriver, Five Finger Death Punch, Lamb of God, Machine Head, Chimaira. Melodic Death Metal , Death Metal, and some Thrash Metal gets this often too.
