robot rock is just a definition and lots of bands can fit into the definition, queens of the stone age is a label josh used to define what QOTSA best sounded as, but if you do some looking, popular bands like faith no more, the doors, even system of a down and scars on broadway are bands that can fit that definition, and in some ways, so doesn't daft punk sometimes, it's defined as "a solid groove and pummeling it into your head," hard rock can do that a lot, but so can't any other genre but nay, none of you truly understand that it is what you personally define the term as, there is no true "robot rock," just as there is no true "hard rock," but QOTSA would probably take those definitions and fit the description of them really well only because QOTSA is awesome
