It makes sense to see Diamond Rugs and Middle Brother in the "similar bands", but the rest doesn't really belong in this list. The Replacements should be on it though.

none of the 'similar bands' sound very similar. This band is more about heartfelt musical craftsmanship and tradition than about genre or indie rock. Hell many of their song ideas are from old timey music and folk and old country.

Listen to Hank Williams Gold collection, it fits with Deer Tick. All of their stuff is very good, but the some of the newer stuff takes a few plays before you get it, and then some of the "new" stuff is incredible.

POTUSOA; "Born on Flag Day" is their second best in my opinion, kinda similar to "War Elephant". The latest album just doesn't do anything for me.. :/

They're seriously one of the best bands out there, not even joking! I just hate how underrated "Deer Tick" is. Just doesn't make sense, "Divine Providence" is brilliant! But so are all of their albums, can't go wrong with album. They're simply just perfect.
