Talking Heads were hip to both Bohannon and Mandrill - (had to be - even before Bernie Worrell joined). The groove on "Cities" "Life During Wartime" and "I Zimbra" - all that funky clavinet and organ that Jerry Harrison played, had to come from somewhere. Add to that their infatuation with Fela, and you've got some ace afro-disco-funk groove influences.
