Just so people know Dino Jelusick is the vocalist for the 2nd album, not Rick Castellano. Not sure why they changed it up. Apparently, there will also be a part 3 to WOTW

Sonic Perspectives review "While Symphony X fans would be exultant to receive a new album following 2015’s “Underworld,” Romeo has instead opted to continue his solo project, with the forthcoming release of Part II of his “War of the Worlds” trilogy..."

Rick Castellano. Doesn't look like he has a history with any other bands, so I'm guessing he's new to the scene. Here's hoping we hear more of him over the years.

This has to be some of his most ambitious orchestral work yet and it is simply fantastic, major John Williams vibes throughout the album. Also have to say I love how all the songs segue into each other, it flows perfectly the way all great concept albums should and the closing track 'Constellations' has some major Twilight in Olympus/V vibes going on. It's such a damn good closer to the album as well, especially the way the song structure is, reminds me of the grand finale of a concerto. Very excited for part 2 to say the least.

Listened War of the Worlds pt. 1, and I really like it. It has all the things I look for in prog metal music: great and epic orchestrations, captivating riffs and of course sublime guitar solos.

Well, War of the Worlds is no Symphony X album. Recycled SX riffs and generic choruses... Not bad though, it does have a few nice riffs.

The new album contains some solid metal tunes, yet I still find this to be a meager effort for a musical genuis.

One of the few highly technical players that I consistently enjoy. Perfect blend of technique and thoughtful songwriting. A true genius.

Took me about two years to get into Dark Chapter, and now I love it. It's so unique from all the mainstream "play-fast" guitar music these days. I also highly appreciate the classical influenced parts, like the crazy piano that sometimes join in on the fun. Check this album out if you haven't already!

"Unbelievable guitarist. His guitar work on 'The Dark Chapter' & the Symphony X albums is simply stunning. Technique and compositional skills all packed in one great artist!"-citizenkain I couldn't agree more, his technique involves significantly more tapping than Yngwie's as well. Always judge a musician on their abilities as a musician and never their looks, so I'm glad you're one of the few that DIDN'T comment on his physique (or lack thereof). and because of all ye others whom have commented on his fatness... This mans sausage fingers rock the core of the earth... I would imagine that the world would simply implode if he added a 7th string to his guitar. Oh, incidentally, Yngwie got fat because of Michael Romeo. =)
