ABS... always be scrobbling This year has been so long and weird that it's almost hard to believe that show happened this year. I look back on that show fondly, as like a last bit of normalcy. Awesome bands, awesome to meet you finally. Hoping for better stuff in the future, and more potential hangs! hope you're well my dude.

Hey dude, Just got back from a week out in your old stomping grounds. Always great visiting Washington. Got to check out Mount Rainier and Leavenworth, both of which were awesome little day trips. Leavenworth in particular was awesome. We have a little Bavarian resort town similar to that in Michigan, but it's not nestled in the mountains. Stayed with a few friends in the Burien and then Edmonds. How's Denver treating you?

It's cool in some regards. Overall I miss Washington though, it's always been home. Visiting Issaquah and Bellevue for the last few days. I'll be near the airport now until Sunday evening.

How was the MTB Farewell show with Tera Melos? Sounds like it would have been a blast.

Not the best I've heard them sound but the setlist was amazing. Lots of varied cuts but a few songs felt stripped down guiar wise via Dave. Crowd was fairly lame attitude wise and pushy for no reason, Cory endd up yelling at a number of people to cut it out from stage. Tera Melos was way fun and we saw them earlier here solo so I appreciated that. Not a lot of fans of Menos or Ice seemed to appreciate Tera Melos so that was kinda fun ha. Still thinking of moving out this way?

While I never could get fully on board with their later stuff, I still loved the way they sounded live these last few years,so it's a shame to hear their last hoorah wasn't up to snuff. That's always the worst when a band has to get confrontational or upset with the crowd/crowd members. Brings the whole vibe way down and spoils the mood. You'd think Tera Melos would carry a lot of cross over fans with Minus the Bear, but sounds like maybe not. I need to catch them again next time they come around. Not planning any move for the time being. GF still wants to move shortly after she graduates, but I don't think I could handle a long distance relationship so I'm trying to bide her time and see if she'll stick around here for a bit until I know what my plans look like. At the least, I think I'm going to go out to Denver in August to do a week's worth of the Colorado trail with her since she plans on doing the whole thing solo.

Never even listened to 'Voids' to be honest. And Acoustics II, not much of lost loves really. Although i already had a lot of those b-sides or live recordings. I did hear two songs off the new EP but eh. I think i burned myself out seeing them live as much as i did back in the northwest. Still a great show, but certainly not the best I had seem them. Around thirty times so it gets hard. Yeah the crowd was weird but she show was still fun. Same with Tera Melos but whatever, their loss. So Many Dynamos has that crossover with hardcore and pop but some people really hate them for whatever reason. That'll be fun. Yeah we did Denver to Seattle for 2 1/2 years before i finally moved. Be good to see you again, five years now since Lolla!

Well it's good to hear you guys were able to maintain that relationship despite the distance. It seems really hard to do, but it gives me hope that the distance is only temporary if it comes to that. If/when I get out there this summer, I'll hit you up. It would be great to see you if our schedules line up!

Give a shout/ring/tweet! Not for everyone but with a timeline or end date it's doable. I wouldn't do anything long distance open ended.

Girlfriend would love that, Durango in particular, but I don't see that happening unless she ends up getting a therapist gig that she wants after graduating next spring. It's more likely that in the next few years I might move to the upper peninsula of michigan. everythings TBD. I bought an awesome house that i'm really happy with tbh, and i've got good job security, so any move at all will require a degree of uprooting my whole life, but i'd do it for her. either way, many trips will be had back out to CO and UT since she has so many friends there. I'll be sure to let you know if I do, and you are welcome (and encouraged) to come visit and crash at my place if you come out this way. Are you still seeing Amber? If so, how are you two?

Yup six year next month. Our issues like everyone else but it's gotten better. For sure, always heard about the UP but never really gone. Familiar with Bear Vs. Shark? That's about all I know about Michigan unfortunately ha. Congrats on the house man! Yeah It'd be cool to snwoboard and talk music/life. Doing flight school here to become a pilot and then hopefully back to Washington in a few years.

Congrats on the milestone, man. Good for you two, and glad to hear things are on the upswing. She was very nice the time we met. Haha, Bear vs, Shark. I had no idea they were from Michigan. I've never actually even heard a song of theirs, but I remember seeing their name back in the day all over Alternative Press magazine. Yeah, I look forward to the day we can go snowboarding together. (Hopefully out west somewhere, there's not really any good skiing in the midwest/great lakes except for maybe the exception of Mount Bohemia in the U.P. which has some great back country riding I hear) And good luck on your piloting pursuit. Knowing nearly nothing about it or anyone that does it, it sounds like a really badass profession to go into.

Only ever snowboarded here so I'm fairly spoiled with conditions and mountain variety. Yeah, Lolla 2013 and you were a trash talker ha. I've thought about volunteering for fests here to see more behind the scenes. Thanks, going to be a lot of work but it'll pay off. I'll take you up sometime once I get better at flying ha!

I find it really funny that I'm doing this through Last.fm, but it's literally the last vestige of social media I didn't delete, lol. I'm going to be road tripping through CO and UT later this week with my girlfriend, and I'll be swinging through the Denver/Boulder area this Sunday night and staying in Nederland. If you want to grab a drink I'd love to see you. We might try to play our odds too and go last minute snowboarding at Purgatory near Durango if it's still open later in the week. I'll message you my number if interested!

She wants to move to Durango (and wants me to join her) so it's very likely I'll be out that way again in the next year or so. So i'll keep you posted. Didn't end up boarding anywhere as it looks like I missed the season at most places by a few days, but I did get to hit up a bunch of National Parks in Utah, Wyoming, and Montana, so it was a trip well worth it.

Sounds sick man. I have some buddies from college out in Durango now. Telluride isn't so far and Purgatory is the local Durango resort. Hiking, rafting, golfing, etc. Give me a shout, always game to hang If I'm around. Yeah season has been spotty snow wise. Glad it was a good trip. Have any shows or festivals planned out? Grandoozy is a new one coming to denver from the creators of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands come September.

Sorry I'm the worst at writing back! But thanks! And are you super stoked to be coming on to Denver? First show will be Portugal! At Red Rocks, have you been yet? Post graduation life feels shockingly similar to pre-graduation life. Nothing to report. Meep. How've you been?

Yeah, that's true. Some people imagine the country because it looks or feels better than the one they actually live in. Although there are lots of places I would want to visit I still like Germany. I mean every country has its good and bad sides. Music, for example, you can find everywhere. That's just wonderful! :)

Yeah, definitely. In fact, i was listening to "Setbacks" weeks ago, and it was quite cool.. I need to listen to the rest of his work... I don't know but i feel like he makes a different kind of hip-hop considering these new trends on hip-hop nowadays.. I mean, it's cool. Kendrick is just awesome, and i did like his last album, but i also think it was a bit overrated. It's a great album, but is not that what most people are saying in my opinion. Tyler is a precious "illmatic" young diamond gem of the new hip-hop, hahaha. I mean, i'm crazy about Wolf, and a little less about Goblin, but this new album is amazing, he inovated so much in a few tracks and you can clearly see that he is building his way to be quite unique in his particularly genre. Cherry Bomb is out of this world, but Blowmyload is my new favorite. What are your favorites? What can you recommend me?

Thanks for the link, hoping he does a good show despite the haters. New Kendrick is fantastic piece of work. Took a few listens to grow on my but its great. Completely different direction to GKMC and will be interestig to see if it stands the test of time. Have you had a chance to listen to it?

But two, it never occurred to me just how many food and beverages these groups require be on-hand for them. Like geez... they're already getting the full dinner and breakfast or lunch or whatever, but then they want to have like a million snacks?! It's kind of crazy, honestly. And to tell the truth, it seems like a waste. Just imagine every venue they play at doing this stuff EVERY night for them... cheese and wine and beer and gatorade and granola bars and yogurt? Shit adds up. I still wouldn't ever wanna be a musician but from Jack White's contract, it doesn't seem like a bad deal. Play a show, get a bunch of food and a place to sleep and what not? Not bad. HAHAHAHA oh god, I'd never win that Bonnaroo contest! Maybe I'll pass that along to one of my friends who's actually GOOD at college radio.

Damn, sorry for not replying lol. I get caught up in school and even though I check last.fm every day, I always push off replying to shouts and messages on here. Yeah, we still have to do shows even without the stream. But my friend tested the FM signal when he did his show by having his friends listen in their car, and it seemed to work, so I hope at least one St. Louisan is listening when I do my show. Kinda curious as to how you're tired of Washington... I've never been, but I feel like everyone is constantly raving about how awesome the state is (and Seattle, specifically). But maybe just too much of a good thing? I don't know that I've ever gotten tired of the place I live... besides here, but I didn't think St. Louis was great to begin with haha. And honestly it's not that bad apart from the weather. I looked through that whole Jack White thing... not gonna lie, he seems like a bit of a diva. Or not him, but his whole group. For one, the guacamole recipe is just... come on.

Well, our software stuff is still messed up but they're working on it. Might be done mid-semester but I think it won't really get finished until the end of the year. We'll see. Programming starts up again tomorrow though, but online streaming is still going to be down. Wow, that's nice! The winter here was really mild this year compared to last year. It's mostly been hovering in the 40's which isn't too bad. You're moving to Denver?! Why? That's really cool though, I've heard Denver is a really nice area. I'd like to go to Colorado at some point. My classes have been good, I'm taking two computer science classes, a physics class, and calc III... trying to decide if Comp Sci is what I want to pick for my major haha. It's pretty difficult but it's rewarding too. I guess I'll see more as time goes on if it's what I want to do. Oooh, I'm diggin the Sasquatch lineup! I've never been to a festival before, maybe at some point I'll go to one.

Hey! The show has gone pretty well, thanks for asking. I've tuned in and out of yours but I'm always getting off work right in the middle of it and it messes things up. I've been keeping tabs on your playlists too to look for new artists. Our stream still isn't up and probably won't be until who knows when. They backed up the hard drives and stuff, but the earlier hardware failure really ruined things and no one in KWUR seems to care this semester. Hopefully next semester things will be back on track, but I've basically been doing a show every week that NO ONE is listening to. Kinda frustrating. Unfortunately I don't know too many small or local bands, and the ones I do know I'm not confident enough in recommending to you hahah. So I don't think I can help on that front, sadly. Do you already have any bands in mind?

It still is kinda lame though 'cause I've known people who like AC/DC and The Beatles and stuff and they just wanna have a little rock show but they can't because of our "No Mainstream" policy. I think it gets taken a little too far, especially considering probably no one besides us DJs and our friends even listen to KWUR. I'm not sure our signal reaches very far, and listening online is a hassle because our streaming thing breaks every other week. My first show went fine. I was super nervous at first but then I remembered how to do everything pretty quickly and it was chill. I think our streaming service is down because my sister couldn't get it to work the other night, so I think I was doing my show for no one. But it's all good I guess. Don't know when it's going to get fixed though.

And the KWUR rules are basically just to play whatever you want that ISN'T being played on any other station in Saint Louis. Which I guess isn't that hard, because all we have are shitty country stations and the other typical stuff.

Ha, I'd like to see her response to that. She'd probably just be weirded out. Hmm, yeah, it would probably be better for me to gradually create my playlist over the course of the week, but I don't listen to music as much during the school year because I'm so busy, so I usually just end up picking random songs I like a couple hours before my show -___- I'll have to work on listening to more stuff these days so I can have more varied playlists. Yeah, Battles are awesome. Mirrored is one of my favorite albums. Gloss Drop's pretty good too, but in a different way. Oh really, you guys can't even play Tame Impala? They're not even that big! O__O But maybe they are. I dunno. I think my station is full of sticklers but I honestly don't think they'd nitpick over a big indie band. Shit, I play The National all the time and I've even played The Strokes! But maybe schools in more ~hip~ states care more. Because I doubt even The Strokes are being played on other radio stations in Missouri.

Hey! I want to show you Alex Page and the first EP “Deviance Disorder”: https://www.facebook.com/project.alexpage "Alex Page started working on music in 2013. Their first EP Deviance Disorder was released on September 30th, 2014. Its main purpose is to show the existing deviance in our society to its own high standard and the subsequent acceptance of that fact, which should lead into an inner state of peace. The music can be described as alternative and electronic with diverse influences.” Likes, downloads, shares and opinions are always welcomed :)

Ha, I think it's just a coincidence. I don't know her well at all, but she's the personnel director of KWUR and always does the scheduling stuff, so I bet she can pretty much give herself whatever slot she wants. Her show is pretty cool from what I catch of it, though. It's called "In the Mood for Luv" and it's like an underground R&B show and people can call in and she gives them love advice. I'm in the process of making my playlist now; I got some of it figured out yesterday but still need to pick some more songs. And I need to figure out what I'll be saying, if anything. Also dude that song totally did sound like Battles. And dunno if you listen to Tame Impala but the lead singer's voice on that Elephant Stone song you played earlier sounded just like the lead singer of Tame Impala which I thought was weird.
