Yeah man shits getting old. Makes me wonder when it will come back. I suppose if all else failed we could start a Facebook group or some shit.

I think there might be a new Perdition Temple? I haven't checked any of it out but I was never huge on that band. Also new Undergang seems promising.

I'm enjoying the new Shroud of the Heretic quite a bit lately. I've only listened to the new Chapel of Disease once but it sounds pretty cool so far. This is also pretty interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoHwy1pPpBI

Yeah I'm liking it a lot. They keep getting better with every release. I can hear similarities, It doesn't really have that dissonant Immolation vibe that DC has going on though. You like it more than than the new DC? I know you weren't really into it.

Yeah I kind of saw it coming. They haven't been cool with the separate pages for different bands of the same name since the beginning so it doesn't surprise me they just got rid of them all. Still hoping it might go back to normal though. 7 years of charts getting all fucked up is pretty annoying. I'll keep last.fm if they bring groups back and it sounds like from what you read they're bringing them back. I guess we'll see how many other people stay around.

No idea. Not sure if last.fm is going to bring the groups back and if they do who knows when they will. My charts are all fucked up and this UI is terrible so I'm pretty close to just saying fuck it and deleting my account. I'll give it a bit of time to see if they fix shit though.

yep, that sounds complicated non-scientific bullshit..sounds like the kind of shit that i have seen in some movies or something with a story about or involving high end medical research and corporations...but i guess all that's not unusual in high status medical research..which univ are you in btw ? and i assume you are now in grad school (as opposed to earlier when i think you'd said you were into a 2 years worth of experience gaining associateship or something)? and dude you forget i graduated from university ages ago :P now entering the 4th yr of phd (or rather the 2nd yr really, because the first 2 years are pretty much wasted on coursework and all that).

Nah, not really new. I've liked some black metal for quite a few years. I just don't like the "raw" "depressive" type shit. I like the bands that are more black/death or rooted in traditional heavy metal or doom.

yeah i get the drift (about your work description)...sounds very interesting (and fundamental) actually...cancer research anyway is one of the very exciting and important fields...so you're like a research associate or something on an appointment of say 2 yrs or something ? you could have gone the way of grad school too i suppose but you must have had your reasons not to do that at the moment...good list of bands there, but missing out on demigod who reportedly kill in live shows playing just like their old days is inexcusable indeed haha...

hey man nice to see you back in looe...what job did you finally get into ? yeah i can understand the very busy schedule...i have been alright as well...havent listened to any shit at all for about 1.5 months or so i think haha..yet again totally out of any music-listening mood..did you like the bands you saw in mdf ? which bands did you see and like anyway ?

double major, damn, i couldnt ever digest so much chemistry in this life lol - that course that i may flunk is called "basic organic chemistry" :P, doesnt seem so basic to me though haha...had to take it as a last elective coz i made a certain decision regarding electives too late-, so dont congratulate me on my masters yet :\ anyway, i suppose with your experience etc you'll get another job soon enough in something that you are more interested in (which is what btw ? just curious)...yeah rod3 has good lineup this year too, but last year was probably a bit better? dunno...did you also attend mdf ? incantation are coming in india in sept-oct but i most probably wont go..

congrats for the graduation man...did you do the two BS in chem and bio one after the other, or was it simultaneous, like a major in one of them and a minor in the other (when you'd said you were doing chem and bio a few months back, i'd assumed the latter major-minor thing) or a double major? btw i forgot which state of US are you in ? good luck for the job hunt, you'll probably easily get a good one..what kinda job you want though ? like a normal job or some job specifically related to your subjects (lab assistants or in some r&d firm or something)? i am hopefully going to graduate too with my M.Sc. (in physics if you dont remember) in the next few weeks (assuming i dont flunk this one last flunky course lol :| )...will be (again hopefully, if i dont flunk lol) getting into grad school/Ph.D. soon after that....

Yeah, I'm glad I waited until I was 24. If I would have started school right out of high school I'm sure I would have changed my major multiple times and wasted a bunch of time and money, but I've had enough time to think about it and the experience working a shitty underpaid corporate desk job...which is pretty good motivation to do something more with my life, heh.

Ahh, you seem to be one of many people I know around that age that are burned out with school. I've just been working and smoking a bunch of weed as usual, haha. FAIRLY sure that I'm going to go to school for chemistry come fall. You should check out the Cryptophobism 1998 demo, one that has been highly praised in LOOE lately, some good obscure Bulgarian death/doom.

I'd play it really straight-up-the-middle and go with the von Karajan edition. Sorry that sounds lame, but it's probably the best place to start. You have access to it?

i see :p..well the kind of math encountered in QM (or most other things) generally depends on what kind of stuff one is into..in some things most of the the math is complex-looking stuff like loads of bad integrals, lots of hard calculations etc, in some other things the math is not complex-looking but very abstract and conceptual haha..and yes, the vastness of death metal or metal in general is sometimes overwhelming and intimidating..good shit from everywhere..soon one will discover good old shit from even africa i am sure lol.

yeah if one one wants to study quantum mechanics very properly and fairly deeply, some advanced math is needed (even at the senior undergrad level) and much more advanced conceptual math as one gets deeper into it..but if you are only interested in learning about its real life applications and its most important and basic direct manifestations, implications (indirect manifestations and implications are there everywhere haha) and uses in chemistry, you can take a sophomore level basic quantum physics (or quantum chemistry course for the chemistry part which i guess you already probably have studied) course which generally teaches some most basic (and useful,in terms of having applications and not being entirely romantically theoretical) principles of QM (without getting deep into all sorts of conceptual and mathematical issues) and then goes into applications which can be nicely learnt without much unusually difficult (conceptually and otherwise) math..

i see...yeah genetics and cell biology also interest me quite much...but my foremost interests in biological shit are always evolutionary biology and neurobiology...cancer studies are also interesting for me..but like i said, i cant study these by myself at all..i enjoy learning things like these when someone gives a non-too-technical lecture or some Discovery channel shows or something..yeah a practical experience associated with Health etc is always an important thing if one wants to get into medical (which itself is a practical, real life career)..my gf is studying medical in a college here in India and sometimes wishes to go to the US for higher studies, but the USMLE procedure is so complicated, time consuming and redundant for someone who wishes to ultimately serve indian patients that she has stopped preparing for it haha...

biology and chemistry together (which one is the major btw? bio?), nice, how are you alive? :D i like both those subjects and have a deep interest in some specific subjects within them (evolutionary biology and neuroscience/biology in particular), but i really cant "study" them at all haha :( :| :D..i had rather failed my 3rd semester chemistry course which was compulsary for students of all departments to do lol :D i didnt know there're no separate undergrad courses for medical in the US :o..anyway, if you wait a few years then what'll you be doing in the meantime? some other lighter studies or something? i am studying theoretical physics and mathematics (the former's the major), so you know life gets hard and heavy for me as well haha and so yeah i know what you mean, death metal is like a good gf/wife haha :P i have been studying less than i should for the past 2 or so yrs ever since i got seriously into death metal :| but i dont mind that haha.

haha cows :D Virginia also had a good death metal scene as you must be aware of...yeah Montana is a less urbanized, more "countryside" kinda state haha, it's one of the "american west" states featured in many Western movies...yeah i am still in school (5th and final year commencing in a week), and you?

I've got to admit actually, I haven't listened to Star Autopsy yet, but I love the picture so much and The Triplex Bestial is an astounding album! Absolutely, the 'Helixes' collection is amazing, I like every artist I've heard from there. Halo Manash is my favourite, though the newest album is slightly dull at times. Check out the rest of the connected artists would be my first recommendation, Aeoga is very good. ( http://www.helixes.org/ ). Other than that, Metgumbnerbone from the UK is pretty good, very obscure drum beats, ambience and rhythms, a lot of it made with bones etc. Find them on here and someone posted a link to a great news article about them. Some other Dark Ambient artists I really recommend: Zero Kama, Esoterica Landscapes 7, Enemite and Exotoendo, been quite into them recently.

Yeah Maus emailed me a few days ago asking where I've been. I guess he was away working for a few months. I wouldn't be surprised if the bands at MDF next year were comparable to this year - I am definitely going to try to make it next year.

Great to hear that! I just got free after an exam and thank god I am relatively free at least till november. I'm back to playing some lawn tennis, working and of course hanging out with friends. I need to get back to listening to death metal, hell let alone dm, I havent heard any metal in past couple of few months except a couple of bands. These days I am tripping on Pink Floyd bootlegs that a friend gave to me (there are 38 of them :O)
