I agree, they are going into similar route as the previous album and experimenting with those sounds for the new one but focusing on more introspective route than focusing on fictional concept possibly. Oh really, I thought Leonard Cohen vibes than Scott Walker but I haven't listen to Scott much so I can't be sure. Yes the strings make it more organic and touching in a way and feel like there is more to come with theme of this album. That's fair, those songs are such bops, I don't blame you. My favorite might always be Cornerstone since it is the first song that got me to listen to them more. And Only one we know is pretty good, And I wanna be yours is so catchy and fun that I could sing it karaoke for hours. Fireside is good, so is Secret Door, especially the Chorus. The World's First Monster Truck Front Flip is really good as well and I like how even if it is sticking with the concept, he seems like he is saying something personal and honest about his privacy in that one.

Oh yeah I can definitely hear some Leonard Cohen vibes as well with the singing style and the arrangement. I liked the concept on the last album, but I'd be excited to hear more personal type songs as well on this one. I'd recommend checking out Scott Walker though. Alex has name checked him as a big inspiration for the Submarine soundtrack, and I think quite a lot of TLSP has a strong Scott Walker vibe as well. His 1960's albums are good entry points, especially Scott 3 or Scott 4. Cornerstone is an absolute all timer, yeah. Such sweet melancholy. Only ones who know is great as well, was one of the first indicators of where their sound would develop to from the punky guitar based early albums. Secret door is a favourite of mine as well, just a beautiful song. I'll have to give Monster Truck a few relistens, never picked up that theme from it before. Although that's what I love about repeated listens to songs, you pick up things you missed before.

Oh yeah I remember that, it was Scott Walker, David Axelrod and Ennio Morricone would they used inspirations for the both TLSP albums as well. Oh I've listened to some of David's and Ennio's work but not yet of Scott, So thank you for telling me about this, I am curious about him as well. I think i listen to some of Scott 3 before but I don't remember so i should re-listen to him soon after I get 'there'd better be a mirrorball' out of my head haha. Aww yeah I know right?! Cornerstone is such a beautiful song, It makes me want to hug someone and tell them that everything will be okay. Yes, Secret Door is such a fantastic song especially the chorus, "Fools on parade!!!!". It is so fun to sing and vibe to! Oh yeah it took me a few listen to Monster Truck to really get it because the melody was so good and I did not pay attention the first time listening. And yeah me too, repeating songs is what get me to understand the music and lyrics more and find the interesting parts.
