They're good, yeah! Friends of mine. Going for that whole 90's Fat Wreck/Epitaph skatepunk sorta sound.

Also, since you play as well, curious if you have any uploads. I have quite a few here: https://soundcloud.com/bryce-bruder

Ooh, nice...how many strings are on your bass? Being a metal fan, I'm very partial to 5 and 6 strings (but use every string, unlike many trend jumpers in the metal genre lately.) Not sure that Kansas is funky as much as they had the awesomely high action, classic rock bass tone going on. A lot of classic rock bands had bass punchiness that many modern rock bassists can only aspire to. It's weird, too, considering that Obscura/Beyond Creation get a lot of power out of super clean bass while many modern bassists seem to struggle WITH effects like overdrive applied. Maybe a lot of punchiness comes down to whether or not bassists will touch the top strings as needed, just look at what Geddy lee accomplishes.

I'm glad you approve! They are great bands. Incubus are worthy of your most listened band.

What I always found interesting is that some bassists single-handedly push bands into metal territory if their tone is aggressive enough. Flyleaf comes to mind especially, make the distortion less massive on stuff like I'm So Sick and Fully Alive and it'd definitely be more in hard rock territory than alternative metal.

It's rather amazing how some of the best hard rock bassists get overlooked...the bass grooves on David Bowie's album The Man Who SOld the World and basically everything from the '70s era of Kansas has great bass...maybe that joke about bassists not getting laid is accurate lol.

Yeah that new PBTT album is awesome, I liked it after one listen and loved it after two. Gates is pretty awesome as well, great dudes too. I used to play WoW with their drummer sometimes. Have you ever listened to the band Pompeii? Also shameless plug for my band's music: https://fromfragileseeds.bandcamp.com/ more along the lines of like Moving Mountains type stuff but you might dig it

That's awesome. We probably have even more artists in common since I've had older accounts with more plays. I think Danny Carey is probably one of the best drummers I've heard, though I've never seen Tool or Danny live, but I hope to. I saw Maynard with Puscifer a few years ago. He was great.

I actually came across Keep You by chance. I haven't found anything like it yet. As for Japanese post-hardcore and alt. rock I'm not sure. Sorry I couldn't be of much help, I don't know much about what music falls in what category. Also sorry for the late reply.

Well, I like Deftones but not really my cup of tea, I don't like vocals this much. I'm more high pitched male voices kind of girl xD Like A Skylit Drive. I like their last album but I agree with some people saying that without second guitar it's a bit flat. And Thrice... Hm. I don't think so., but maybe I'll give them chance again. Of Mice was never my jam. Thanks for all the suggestions :3 I really need you to scrobble. Get your shit together, man :p

That'd be amazing. Shame he went with DGD even tho it's not that bad album with him. Ok, wow. I'm not going to give you any recommendation. Your taste is too perfect and you know every band you should :D But I'd like some from you if I can ask that. Mew is my bf fav band and we were exchanging Mew's lyrics for a month. Aahahah xD Assholes or nor - the album is brilliant. One thing they did good. Btw, I have a notion that PH artists are at least in 80% sumbags and dumbasses. :/

Yeah, it's an amazing demo. Promises is good demo as well, tho. Hmmm. No screaming. Then Secrets and Whispers is for you. They had an amazing vocalist :3 I also would recommend Decoder but they have some screaming parts even tho they're not dominating songs. It's up to you ;] Have you tried Mew?

Oh no you didn't! :o Fuck, I dream to see him live and ALLB, too. One of my grates discoveries from last year :3 But oh well, I'm going to see Circa in October <3 My bf also thinks that Johnny is a jerk even tho he's a good singer :DDD Tilian is awesome. Do you know stuff he did with Saosin? It's pretty great. I can't believe that Tides kicked him out. I like some electronic stuff so I like his solo musci. Do you like high male voices as well? If so then I have few recommendations to make.

yay! yeah, I think in that matter we have a lot in common that's why I'd like to know what goods are you hiding there. and Kurt... oh Kurt. I had his album for months on my laptop and when I finally got to listen to his solo stuff I feel in love right away <3 and also he seems like a very decent lad from the intervievs.

They're currently recording a new record and they said it's gonna be a rock opera. Are we gonna see Queen of progressive metal? Freddie Rodgers? That's some interesting food for thought

Haha, hell yeah, Buckethead is nuts! Btw, have you seen BTBAM live? I have twice. Man, that's just something incredible, something simply out of this world. Not only do they play flawlessly, the songs seem to sound even better live lol

Yeah same the only Christian bands I listen to are mainly Newsboys and Switchfoot. I really Skillets music style tho mainly because a lot of their songs are pretty catchy. Are you in a band? what's it called? Black Veil Brides are alright in my opinion I only have a few favorites by them. Are you more into the classic rock type of style?

I actually went to Creation Fest in Agape Farm, Pennsylvania for a youth group gathering. That's when I saw them live though I'm not a huge fan of their music, I gotta admit their pretty awesome live! and Yes I also went to Kingsfest recently but they did not play this year. What about you? any plans on upcoming concerts or festivals?

Yeah I know that makes us both close friends! and yeah I agree, my car radio is always set on 102.1 and sometimes Lite98 on laid back days for chilling. Normally I would just use my phone or iPod for traveling when I can't find anything good to listen too but most of my music streaming is done from my laptop mainly because... well, like you said it's hard to find a station that plays good music these days
