Absolutely love it how much you have listened to David Bowie. And especially Bowie from 90’s! <3

I only recently heard about that trick/surprise with the blackstar cover. [Take out the vinyl/cd first to not ruin, then expose the cover to sunlight for a while. Inside the star, stars will appear.] He really was a creative genius.

Me too! He treated music like art. And you know what? I think we'll see something else from him maybe next year around his birthday. I don't put it past him to be so clever as to have completed some music (and, in his will, have it scheduled to be released only then). Wouldn't that be something? :)

Did you ever get the chance to see him in concert? I was fortunate to catch him on that "Outside" tour, where he co-headlined with Nine Inch Nails. I'll always remember the mass exodus of "fans" that left early (after NIN finished and before Bowie was set to take the stage). What idiots!

...and seeing that you're currently scrobbling Bowie, which are your top 3 albums of his? Here's mine: ziggy/stationtostation/low

"Nothing Natural"! Yes, I was surprised they didn't play that one. I would have liked "I've Been Here Before" as well. But once they started into "For Love" I was beyond content. :)

I know. I loved it! And since I took the day off from work, I was early lining up, so when they let us in, I was quick to get my spot. I ended up right in front of the stage. :) They scheduled more dates in LA for September (on their second swing thru the US). I'm going both nights. It's another small venue, but bigger than the Roxy (1500 capacity vs. 500 capacity). Are you on the East Coast? They've got shows in Philly, NY, Boston, Detroit, Chicago and DC left, along with the 2 added LA shows. (They must love LA. We got 3 total). :)

Ugh! My Lush show got postponed. The band encountered visa issues coming into the states, so I have to wait until April 25 now to see them. :P Oh well. I guess that saved me that long drive into West Hollywood tonight.

So funny. Backtracking from a Cause & Effect shoutbox, I was going to send a recommendation, but I think it's already in your library. Information Society - "What's On Your Mind". Anyways, keep scrobbling that Bowie, my favorite. :D

I've only heard a little AGS but it's impressive; makes me think of Cranes without the helium vox. "Floating In Blue" by Young Prisms (check out the video) might be the ultimate recreation of the Slowdive / Cocteaus sound

Have you heard Velour 100? Kind of like a combo of the Sundays, Cocteaus, and Low. I bought my dad Blind by the Sundays for Xmas '96, but after a few days got antsy and decided to open it and keep it for myself, since I had borrowed it from someone in college earlier that year & loved it. Best gift interception ever.

You're welcome. I also agree with what a recent commenter said: "Always nice to meet fellow folks of color who appreciate alternative sides." :-)

I'm always intrigued by those other last.fm people who like some of the same obscure artists that I do, namely: Catherine Wheel, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Die Laughing, Liz Phair and And Also the Trees. :)
