Pleased to see you will be seeing the 'gwai. I think The Hawk is Howling is a (partial) return to form after the slip-up that was Mr Beast. I love Batcat. Ferocious cunt of a song. Some of the slow building tunes like ..Blow Up Your School are strong too. But I loathe The Sun Smells Too Loud. Don't know what they were thinking with that tune. Think you would love EOTR. We had a great time. Suggest we camp up with you and other fun people for '09 yeah? Off to Scotland on Saturday. Not having a "Pavey Panic" yet but I'm sure Kiki will be keeping an eye on me. Stay ready. And shrouded. AJP

EOTR was class. Other than a couple of showers on Friday the weather was excellent, making movement around the festival totally effortless. So many excellent performances; Shearwater, Mercury Rev, David Thomas Broughton, Mountain Goats were a few of the great sets. Low were great until the very end when it became apparant that Alan Sparhawk was suffering from a nervous breakdown. He took off his guitar, swinging it round his head and launched it into the crowd. Kealey and I had to duck to avoid getting twatted by it. Scary shit but amazingly no-one was injured and some grinning cunt got a free Les Paul out of it. All festivals done now. :(. Still, got Mogwai, Fuck Buttons and Errors next month :). A trip up Norf for walking/ gig would be good. How is life treating your good self?

I - and I have just tried this, to make absolutely sure - can talk on the phone, whilst taking the washing out of the machine and stirring a pasta sauce... whilst wearing shoes, socks, trousers a tee-shirt and jumper AND glasses. Nope, didn't think you could.
