Can I just say... I really love Mirror Traffic. I mean I realized it was a really solid album before, but listening to it now, I'm like dayumn.

I did indeed listen to it, but I then promptly forgot that I had it! This is excellent, though. It sounds like what Explosions in the Sky would be if they were a high school band that played exclusively in their parent's garage. I could defs go for s'more Shooooooaaaaars. And yeah I'm diggin' the new Dan Mangan album quite a bit lately, especially the first track on the album. I love me a waltz. I'm still not 100% sold on this album yet. His lyrics are pretty mediocre. But the music is great!

According to Wikipedia, he is pronounced "gore-ti-yeah," but he goes by Wally. Obviously he's awesome. Donald Glover actually posted a video on iamdonald- that's how I heard about him. I've only listened to Making Mirrors, but it's really cool. It's a hodgepodge of a lot of different styles. And The Weakerthans are really good! I'm pretty sure you recommended that album to me, and it was just sitting in my library for two years. So now I like it! I'll definitely check out Left and Leaving, thanks.

Fog by Yellow Ostrich is so good. Like deliciously good.

Not so much. I like a few of the songs, but it's definitely not as good as The Rhumb Line. Also, I finally listened to the whole Paul F. Tompkin's Freak Wharf album, and I got upset during his cake vs. pie bit all over again.

So. Most of this Kimbra album is quite bad. I've deleted most of the tracks on it as I've been listening through. I still think Settle Down is super great, though. Domestically-minded jazz pop.

P.S. My roomie also really enjoys Emperor X. I had it on repeat in the kitchen the other day while I was doing readings, and I went to go take care of my laundry and came back like an hour later and he was still grooving away.

Also, I'm an idiot and deleted stuff from our Dropbox folder without realizing that I hadn't saved some of the shiz to my computer yet. Can you resend Tanglewood Numbers, that Tanya Morgan album, and the Shotgun & Jaybird albums?
