Even though I haven't listened to the Hamilton soundtrack? That's good news! Glad our music compatibility hasn't changed. Hope you're doing well, Shela.

We've apparently been friends on here for some time. I cannot say I remember the circumstance. However, stumbling on your page now, I must commend you on your charts. Its unusual and nice to see left-field bands that I've been a fan of for some time on someone else's page. I haven't thought about We Versus the Shark in a bit.

Hey, I was just cruising around my old comments on Jawbreaker (in an interested way not like some sort of sexual predator sniffing bike seats), anyway your name appeared, hope you're still enjoying them.

Can I just say... I really love Mirror Traffic. I mean I realized it was a really solid album before, but listening to it now, I'm like dayumn.

I didn't realize that what I had procured was a leaked copy, but hyeah we ah! Unfortunately, the rest isn't as foot-stampingly fiery as the the cemetery track. I think. I'll give it a close listen and get back to you.

I did indeed listen to it, but I then promptly forgot that I had it! This is excellent, though. It sounds like what Explosions in the Sky would be if they were a high school band that played exclusively in their parent's garage. I could defs go for s'more Shooooooaaaaars. And yeah I'm diggin' the new Dan Mangan album quite a bit lately, especially the first track on the album. I love me a waltz. I'm still not 100% sold on this album yet. His lyrics are pretty mediocre. But the music is great!

How be Shoaaaaaaaaaaaars (I know it's misspelled, but it's more pirate-y this way)? I see a lot of l'il hearts beside their songs...

There's a Toronto-based rapper called More or Les who has an album called Brunch with a Vengeance. I don't know how much of the album is actually related to brunch, but I like what I've heard of the album so far: http://moreorles.bandcamp.com/album/brunch-with-a-vengeance

Re: all teh French music, my friend is going to France for a few months to do this program where you learn to speak-a the French-a. So I scoured the internets for the best French music I could find to make him a bon voyage learning aide mix.

Hahaha! Thanks for linking up, man! And the Los Campesinos explanation is that I pulled them up in iTunes for bedtime music, but didn't notice that I had it set to play most recent adds first! I may or may not have been buzzed at the time...

You heard "Cheerleader" by St. Vincent? This is probably a stupid question, but I'm completely unaware of what is popular in mainstream AND non-mainstream circles. But anyway... it's a really great song.

I totally checked out Left and Leaving. It IS even better. Stop being so good at predicting my musical taste, Tim.

According to Wikipedia, he is pronounced "gore-ti-yeah," but he goes by Wally. Obviously he's awesome. Donald Glover actually posted a video on iamdonald- that's how I heard about him. I've only listened to Making Mirrors, but it's really cool. It's a hodgepodge of a lot of different styles. And The Weakerthans are really good! I'm pretty sure you recommended that album to me, and it was just sitting in my library for two years. So now I like it! I'll definitely check out Left and Leaving, thanks.

Not so much. I like a few of the songs, but it's definitely not as good as The Rhumb Line. Also, I finally listened to the whole Paul F. Tompkin's Freak Wharf album, and I got upset during his cake vs. pie bit all over again.

So. Most of this Kimbra album is quite bad. I've deleted most of the tracks on it as I've been listening through. I still think Settle Down is super great, though. Domestically-minded jazz pop.

P.S. My roomie also really enjoys Emperor X. I had it on repeat in the kitchen the other day while I was doing readings, and I went to go take care of my laundry and came back like an hour later and he was still grooving away.

Also, I'm an idiot and deleted stuff from our Dropbox folder without realizing that I hadn't saved some of the shiz to my computer yet. Can you resend Tanglewood Numbers, that Tanya Morgan album, and the Shotgun & Jaybird albums?

I remembered we had talked before but I never realized about Jordan O'Jordan. Although I do tend to blather on about him to anybody who will listen. Glad you were one of them! :) Fantastic stuff, huh? I also adore BTMI! and Andrew Jackson Jihad. Fantastic stuff all around! Anyway, nice reconnecting with you. Keep up the good taste! ;)
