hey have you checked out Figg yet? great sublime sounds from Robin and Gilden

i haven't listened to the entire thing yet, just the first 3 or 4 songs. it's okay so far, better than cassadaga, but that's not saying much. i saw him do an in-store at amoeba yesterday and his singing voice aside, i found the music to be passionless and middle of the road. you know how when you're at a show and you're overwhelmed by visual stimuli so you close your eyes to get a better feel for things? apart from one song ( and i don't remember which), none of the songs stirred up any feelings or made me feel the way i used to about fevers and mirrors-era bright eyes. lame as it is to say, his set left me feeling a bit empty. i think if this album weren't done by him, i would have cast it aside already. i'll give it more of a try later. what do you think of it?
