I certainly appreciate Kevin changing his style and keeping it fresh. I need to give it more listens, though. But there's a few tracks that I enjoy so far. Besides a few tracks, Lonerism took some time to grow on me as a whole. I'm thinking Currents may be the same way. And I agree with you about Currents being a bilateral movement. There's certainly a different sound, but not much progression. But I guess that lack of progression does come with the territory of it being a more 'dancey' album. As far as upcoming stuff this fall that I'm looking forward to, Youth Lagoon's new album is out in September, and I know that Panda Bear EP should be coming out (I didn't listen to the leak if that was what you were referring to). YL seems to be changing up his sound in a big way. If you haven't checked out YL, I definitely recommend giving Wondrous Bughouse a spin. That's all that I can think of at the moment. I know that AnCo, Local Natives, and Grizzly Bear are all working on stuff though.

Hey. How've you been, my friend? I am enjoying the album, but I don't think it's as strong as Bloom. More listens will tell, as I am a firm believer in giving music time to grow. I'm someone who never really 'got' Teen Dream, other than a few songs. So I do like it more than Teen Dream as a whole I'd say, but not as much as Devotion or Bloom. Still though, I think Depression Cherry is good. My favorite tracks would probably be Sparks, Beyond Love and Wildflower. I definitely recommend giving Beyond Love and Wildflower some extra listens. As for the shoegaze thing, I think a lot of us felt more of the album would be headed in that direction. What else has been catching your ear lately? What do you think of the new Tame Impala record?

Hey, what's up? I just discovered there's a hidden folder in the Transverse Temporal Gyrus program, where you can listen to the 101 original tracks made by Animal Collective, before they were mixed together :) There's a track which mashes up the intro of Mercury Man with Scheherazade by Panda Bear

My dude, it's no sweat. Honestly, I don't ever really go on 4chan. I've been there a handful of times pretty briefly. I spend plenty of time on reddit, though. The reason why you see the /mu/ thing in my shout box is because I linked a funny Avey Tare article that is from 4chan to someone on here. Someone on the AnCo subreddit had linked it to me. And I shall link you said funny article: http://4chanmusic.wikia.com/wiki/Avey_Tare . As for Kanye, I don't listen to him so I don't particularly have an opinion one way or the other. But I'm glad you're diggin' it man.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it a bit. Ambient is certainly more reserved than, say, your average indie song, but that's kind of as a result of the nature of it. I enjoy it because I find it relaxing. But I don't think it's supposed to compete with an upbeat pop/rock song in terms of energy. However, I've found there is much to listen to in Eno's ambient works (and I'm sure others) and collabs if you're trying to listen critically. Eno has a quote that I like about ambient. "Ambient music must be able to accommodate many levels of listening attention without enforcing one in particular; it must be as ignorable as it is interesting."

I totally respect your opinion. What is it about Eno's music that you dislike? Did you check out the Eno/Fripp track I linked? If not, you may dig it. It's very spacey and beautiful, IMO. That Actress track was pretty cool. Kind of like an ambient/electronica offspring. Interesting.

I'd say Aphex's ambient definitely counts, yeah. I actually purchased that album on CD a few weeks ago and have listened a little bit to it. Some good stuff. If you do have some interest in checking out more ambient, I really recommend listening to Evening Star by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp, as well as Ambient 2: The Plateaux of Mirror by Brian Eno and Harold Budd. Here's the opening track from Evening Star: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faTxUSO-6mA

I don't think it's cliche. It's just what it was. And I know what you mean about the music experience thing, as you needed to have a bit more experience with some other bands before you were able to enjoy the AnCo vibe. I've been a metal fan for a while, but over the last year and a half, for whatever reason I haven't been playing it as much and find myself wanting to listen to music that isn't as aggressive. But I may get the bug sometime soon for it, who knows? Yeah, I completely agree with what you said about mood and music. Mood is really key, I agree. Who knows what kind of weird mood we must be in to listen to AnCo lol. I'll definitely check out Ty's stuff.

Yup yup. So what AnCo album got you hooked once you came back to their music? As for Death Grips, it's definitely interesting. For me though, I haven't been into overly aggressive music over the last year and a half or so. I've barely listened to any metal. One of the things I've gotten into over the past year is ambient music. Are you a fan of ambient? But if/when I get back into the more heavier side of music, I'll definitely give it another shot. As for Ty, I'll be sure to focus first on those albums after Melted.

Yeah, Anco's definitely a band that you have to be in the right mindframe for. I listened to the first few tracks off of Exmilitary, and it's definitely different for hip hop, but I'm just not a big hip hop guy. Still, I respect how experimental it is. Thanks for the suggestion. I noticed you've listened to a lot of Ty Segall. I just picked up his album Twins at the library. I'm looking forward to checking it out. Any other Segall albums you'd recommend to start with?

Yeah, same. Glad to hear you're doing well. I've heard of Death Grips but never have listened to them. I've been ok. Just living life. Haven't really been to any shows in a while. Just listening to music. I noticed you've been listening to a lot of AnCo over the past 6 months. They've been my main jam over the past year. What a truly excellent band. What was your first intro to AnCo music?

I'm not entirely sure to be honest, lol. I recall seeing it somewhere on tumblr or something of the sorts and just liked it. No clue as to who the artist unfortunately. The whole picture is here if you like http://i.imgur.com/dh4TzL4.jpg.

Yes, I really like the EP, even if in my opinion it's not as great as Person Pitch and Tomboy. I've loved Mr Noah and Untying the Knot since the first listen, but it's Faces In The Crowd that's grown on me a lot :D It may be my favourite now. I didn't know the titles of the tracks you told me about. I've listened to some demos on internet and I remember some melodies from his show in Paris but in fact, I never saw the titles haha. I just know that this one will be one of my favourite, I've listened to it so many times. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cch_pAbkdps I've fallen in love with the melody when I heard it during the show ^^ Do you know what it's called?

What kind of Gioconda on drugs is your new avatar? lol. As for Mr* Twin Sister (the Mr is so annoying tho) I haven't heard the new album yet, in fact I didn't know the band before its release. But if you said it's good then it must be.
