Sup dude, so I heard you posted something about Steve Reich being an influence on Flood I. I must say Steve Reich is THE influence on a lot of current music. If you want something that sounds a lot like Flood I give Electric Counterpoint a listen. Then start with all of his work (specially 2x5, double sextet and the mighty Music for 18 Musicians). Google about his phasing technique and give all his work a listen. You will find he is one of the biggest influences of the music these times. Like...there are Steve Reich's pieces that can be labeled as math rock. That guy is god. Regards and hope you enjoy your Steve Reich trip :3

Hi. I saw your shout on the Steve Reich page about Flood I. I'm a big fan of both Reich and Boris so maybe I can help. If you're looking for guitar centred pieces then listen to Electric Guitar Phase and Electric Counterpoint, but you should also check out Music for 18 Musicians and Drumming if you're interested in his style and want to hear some more substantial works. Those two are generally considered his 'classics'. He is quite and interesting and innovative composer so hopefully you can benefit from this. Let me know how you get on!
