Breakbeats are a style of music, there are different (sub)genres that use 'em; drum n bass being one. A breakbeat sounds like a brief drum solo, but segmented, and is used as the basis for a song where the rest of the composition is centered around it. If that makes sense. At least that's what I know. Ya dig? I've been meaning to get into more of the style.
