You're not looking great yourself kiddo. Your point doesn't stand. There's no substance to it and the more you are challenged on it the less substance you bring. You resort to name calling ("retard"? Bitch, please) or appeals to violence or psychiatric medication. What is the virtue you think you are protecting or upholding? You're not coming across as particularly bright here.

Indiana Jones wasnt real cmon its not that deep. Nobody would give 2 shits about this if the Nazis didnt think it was cool thats what gives all these fringe authors their edge. But yk there are Nazi Scientist that werent full of shit and got us on the moon. Believing in this stuff is actually (medically) retarded.

Amebix is true example of dark atmospheric sound. I can't impress more apocaliptic band.

I prefer their 1982-1984 work which is pure Killing Joke / UK Decay / Bauhaus worship, but executed even in a more radical way. Tribal drums, proto-industrial riffs resembling future developments of Godflesh — it's all there, done by Amebix. Arise! was an important landmark in the development of crust punk and all, but apocalyptic, haunting vibe of their early post-punk/goth-punk demos is unbeatable. Moreover: I believe early Amebix is one of the best thing which post-punk ever had to offer.

Очень необычное от них восприятие. При первом прослушивании практически никак не торкает, после второго начинаешь вырывать отдельные куски, а с третьего уже накрывает с головой и равносильно аудионаркотику.

As many of you said below - even if classic material is very good and it's nice introduction into crust, I have no words for 'Sonic Mass', it's perfectly polished in technical way, but also contain some rawness and emotions. When I really like their earlier works, latest album just creates new quality, it's Amebix on its purest, experienced form.

Amebix and Antisect circa 1985 set the standard for classic crust, they were the first bands referred so. Also early Sacrilege and mid-80s Varukers clearly predicted the whole 'crustcore' British thing of Extreme Noise Terror and similar bands. Anyway, during 90s crust punk scene fully merged with Scandinavian d-beat hardcore scene, and today so-called Crustcore is in fact the same thing as d-beat hardcore, but with addition of some cosmetic updates, such as modern metal production, guitar tone and melodeath or black metal vocals. Today crust punk and d-beat are almost interchangable terms.

Yes, but bands like antisect are less metallic guitars and more similar to Crustcore. Many people called bands like Antisect Crustcore. The Varukers never played crust..... Crustcore is different from D-beat, but is really similar. The difference between classic Crust and D-Beat is very big. D-Beat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_TrqqEfsxQ Classic Crust: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG2YQEjyq-k Difference ?? In Crust - Very metallic tone of guitars. D-Beat it's also heavy as on punk, but first of all it does not sound metallic. Crust is a very extensive genre.... And quite difficult to isolate.... Some songs are the tone of the guitars and heaviness level like Speed/Thrash Metal. And some to Sludge Metal or even Death Metal. Crust is a very strange genre....

Listen to '85 EP from Antisect, both songs are very metallic, though in general I agree. Varuker's One Struggle One Fight LP is metallic as hell compared to their earlier output. I listened to a lot of 80s Scandinavian d-beat and modern crust, and had concluded that crust is such a 'strange genre' simply because there is no precise definition of it, it's very blurry. I think you see music genres as scientifically defined or something, while they are not. There was a bunch of dirty punks that decided call themselves as 'crusties' in 80s Great Britain. Then a bunch of journalists decided to call their music - that was usually a some kind of fusion of metal with punk - as crust punk. Hence all that confusion. Crustcore and d-beat as music genres are often too similar and there is no clear borderline between them. In 90s both scenes mixed up and earlier d-beat became more metallic and 'modern', while crust bands tended to sound more hardcore-ish

One Struggle One Fight is a little metallic, but generally VARUKERS play D-Beat.... Yes there is a lot of truth in it but objectively definition (Classic) Crust is "Crust punk is a derivative form of hardcore punk and anarcho-punk, mixed with metal riffs." It's fusion some (agressive) Punk genre and some Extreme Metal genre (Usually Death Metal, Sludge Metal, Early Black Metal and sometimes Thrash Metal). Guitar are usually higly deformed and very metallic. Anything bands that does not meet these conditions are D-Beat or Crustcore.

I have completely missed out on Amebix for most of my life, based on some of the earlier records I wasn't really intrigued. But I've recently been listening to some more Neocrust and thought why not listen to some of the mothers of the genre - turns out, Sonic Mass sounds nothing like their old music and it's insanely good. Cudos for that record.

The recently remastered Monolith - The Power Remains is very worthwhile and includes a CD of live recordings from '87. To any that obviously don't understand the aesthetic or just how influential these guys were: shut the fuck up bitch.
