"real emo" only consists of the post-emo/emo trap scene. What is known by "real emo" is nothing but boring indie rock or dated harcdcore punk. When people try to argue that bands like My Chemical romance are not real emo, while saying that Rites of Spring or sunny day real estate is, I can't help not to cringe because they are just as fake emo as mcr (plus the pretentiousness). Real emo sounds ENERGETIC, POWERFUL and somewhat HATEFUL. Fake emo is weak, self pity and failed attempt to direct energy and emotion into music. Some examples of REAL EMO are Lil Peep, Lil Lotus, nothing nowhere, 93FEETOFSMOKE, killedmyself, familypet, VELVETEARS. Some examples of FAKE EMO are American football, My Chemical romance, Pg 99, Rites of Spring, Cap n jazz and Loma Pietra and Mineral EMO BELONGS TO TRAP NOT TO HARDCORE, INDIE, POP PUNK, ALT ROCK OR ANY OTHER MAINSTREAM GENRE

V. There are plenty of artists that are worse than Boys Life with plenty of reasons. Cap'n Jazz and SDRE are two of them.

whether one band is better than another is all based on somebodies opinion. if you dont agree with them leave it at that. thats why i refrain from comparing artists and bands. an artist is either good, or bad. i dont care about if they're better or worse.

Wow. Please don't put Boys Life in a juxtaposition with Cap'n Jazz. No, Boys Life is not better than Cap'n Jazz, or Sunny Day Real Estate. All three are raw emotive bands, in three different ways. They're all amazing.

I may agree with the best 90's emo band, but I wouldn't say necessarily say that Departures and Landfalls is "Mineral worship". Mineral's first album dropped in before Boy's Life second album, yes, but the differences between The Power of Failing and Departures and Landfalls is significant. I would say there is more of an argument for Endserenading sounding like Departures and Landfalls.

Yeah but their s/t is way better.. doesn't sound like Mineral worship. Best 90's emo band imo.
