A fantastic album and without doubt there best yet, standout tracks for me are jetstream, the outsiders, 10:03 and lifelines.It gets my vote for album of the year along with invaders must die by the prodigy.

Decent album, though hotterthanjuly may have a point come to think of it. It works quite well on headphones but the production is rather patchy... compare the crispness of "Jetstream" to the muddy mess of "Spellbound". That said, it is nice that it is not a homogeneous sound randomly applied by the producer du jour. If you think back to Lost Souls that has a rather scattershot production too - it's a (frustrating) characteristic of Doves records. For me though, it's the sleeve art that's disappointing. I can see this one featuring high on charts of worst ever album covers for a long, long time. Oh well, it's the music that counts!

a bit disappointing at the first listen, but it's such a grower... great and epic album, although not very commercial, which may determine wether this album is gonna be a huge success.

Don't you just love the doves they can do nothing wrong, only another 10 days until potentially the best album of 2009 is released. the new single kingdom of rust, gave me that same spine tingling feeling when I first heard there goes the fear 7 yrs ago.

Totally worth the wait, i think its going be my favorite album by them, not as its fresh but because it just rules. 10/10 from me, cheers doves for an epic masterpiece.
