Gradwanderer i own. I've heard their other albums too. Nachtgedanken is good although it has an artificial feel to it. Seelenspiegel and Gradwanderer are the best in my opinion. When i heard 'The Burning of the Sea' all I thought was wow... I can't believe how much these guys have changed. I really think they deserve more recognition though, and I cant even IMAGINE what their next album will sound like.

Very interesting and unique music, i enjoyed it since first listening. Masterfully blended elements of black metal (sometimes pretty fast) and symphonic music. Heck, i think even composers of the 1700's would be perplexed by this work :)

I have recently heard Seelenspiegel (and about this band) for the first time, and it was such a stunning experience -that music is simply perfect, in my view! I often search for new music within the genres I am interested in, but it was something unusual, something I have fallen in love with at once! :D:D:D I absolutely like this quite unique combination of clear bariton male vocals and the (sometimes only) background "grunting/screaming"! And you can hear such stunning "melodies" - now I am eager to hear their other albums!

The last album was a total change, they made huge progressing in the scene it also represented much of their old work in it with new touches that you can find it in the operatic / clean vocals mostly, however the old work was perfectly done and it's completely amazing, if the new album came with the same method they played in the last release then we need time to get use to it, it's not negative but a genre for specific people.

Any news on the new album? It's been like two years since an update...

I think seelenspiegel is the definition of a mediocre album. It has its moments, but lacks in the long run. Gradwanderer is a much better album overall, I think. Their first two albums are good, but kind've awkward and nothing too special.

I wouldn't really call it black metal but sure it's symphonic. Greatest band I've heard for quite some time and there's nothing wrong about the vocals. Nice having some variety, mixing harsh and clean vocals. It'd be nice with a new album soon.

What's so bad about the vocals? I've heard most of their material including their first demo and the vocals are pretty kick ass...
