Cool instrumental band. They weren't always an instrumental band. Listen to the first two songs off Chrysalis - The Early Demos and they had vocals similar to the vocals found on Focus by Cynic.

Allan Holdsworth would be proud.

well, to me both bands are great, but Exivious is very different from Scale the Summit. STS don't have that fusion/jazz vibe and their stuff seems less complicated in terms of harmony and rythm.

Just listened to Liminal. Keep scalin' that summit.

Congrats! Liminal is stunning masterpiece, but I still like more previous one.

There's certainly an enormous sense of growth from their self-titled to Liminal, which feels like the more fully realized, distinct, and self-assured big brother to their promising, though at times meandering, debut. Glad I helped (along with thousands of other people) to make Liminal a reality, as it was worth the wait.
