Angie Baby always found it a bit creepy in 1974, but I was only 8, that bit about tuning the radio down and the guy getting smaller, sounds like something off the twilight zone.

She and British comedian/singer Victoria Wood, along with Dionne Warwick, have probably my favorite voices in music! And probably the main reason I love Reddy's voice is that it's got such a soothing, motherly sound! She sounds so soothing and nurturing, and wise- just like the best of a mom. I just love her voice!

Helen Reddy has been my idon since 1973.I sang her songs with my guitar for years and years.Her music helped me be a better writer and singer.I have a scrapbook she signed when she was performing in Claremont NH so many years ago.She noticed a picture in there of herself and her half sister Toni Lammond when they were just maybe four and eight years old.Just a guess on the ages.They were with their Grandparents and they were sitting on a bench.Helen asked me where I got the picture.I said my mom had a pen pal in Australia who mailed it to her to give to me.I still can imitate Helen.Honestly!But when I told her I did that she said,"You have to be yourself"Well yes,and I am myself but just loved her voice.She had a picture taken with my daughter Kathleen who was about ten back then.She said she would mail it but I never got it:( My mom brought me to the Music Hall in Boston when I was a kid to see Helen perform.There is no bigger an of Helen Reddy than Me.I dream of meeting her again.

v Same here -- my mom always listened to Helen Reddy as I was growing up, so I knew all of the lyrics to her songs before I had even decided that I liked her.
