I don't recall any situation in the world/music industry where everyone was supportive for Jesy Nelson after she was struggling with all hate since she was in Little Mix, it peaked eventually when she left the group and when people found out she was going to launch her solo career people (especially Mixers) began to attack her, then literally forgetting they tried to conform her for 10 years and bashing her for literally existing. Well, we don't see what's on backstage, celebrities have strict NDA that don't let them say anything wrong about label for years (e.g. #FreeBritney movement, it's not that easy to speak against believes, audience usually don't believe or will forget within a week and they will still be convinced that label would do anything to improve musician's career). But to be completely honest, relying on the controversies in today's society is a bad route to become mainstream because that's what many celebrities will do, anything for the attention.

Youtube has cumulative views, it is expected that older videos have more views than newer ones. And the whole thing about collabs is to combine views from both fan bases, so your point about their top 10 just confirms the theory that it does in fact work.
