I've heard that this song is based on a true story that actually happened in John's hometown of Nicholasville, Kentucky.

This is not a slam on people who don't believe...it's a simple story whose happy ending includes Jesus...no slam there...besides, believer or non-believer, it's just a song...

"Two non-believers walking lost in this world Took their baby with them What a sad little girl Her daddy drank all day and mommy did drugs" ^That's the bit that got to me. That's all. Just seemed a little slighted. The story and the song itself I have no problem with. A little girl with a bad upbringing is saved by the love of christ and lives happily ever after with a religious family. Not my personal belief system but fair enough. Nice story. All i'm saying is that it does make out the people in this song that don't believe/worship jesus seem evil and those that do to be saints. That's all.

This song is about a little girl living in an abusive and depressing home. This is everyday life for many children in America. Jesus who suffers not the little children was watching out for her even when she didn't realize who He is. This song isn't a slam against non-believers.

@jayms_wisdom; take your meds!! Wow, how the hell did you get all that from this song? I didn't hear anywhere in that song that if you don't believe in Jesus your a drunk/drug addict waste of space parent. Get a grip on reality:)

This song is messed up. I'm ok with religion but seriously this is messed. Basicly implies that not believing in Jesus makes you a drunk/drug addict waste of space parent. I'm not religious and i find this vaguely offensive. Still its a nice song and a (sort of) happy story. I just wish it made non-Christians seem less like scum.
