Veale was certainly, and unfortunately, one of those composers whose part in life was to be significantly talented and filled with creativity that wanted its expression, but in a musical paradigm that was not in favour during most of his years - tonal music, traditionally beautiful, loving music. As he was getting older, he got some attention, sure, but never as much as he deserved. This mistake ought to be corrected: I advise anyone interested in tonal classical music to get his hands on the Violin Concerto, and give it a try. It's very, very good.
