"The beginning sounds so awesome, even perfect but then it just gets worse :|" Couldn't agree more, this song would be so much better if Kele just used his normal voice, and didn't have that annoying female voice. Needs a good remix I think.

It is Kele. As borgy already told, he is using a pitch-shifter. In fact it is really easy to use and it is included in most music making programs. Quite fun to play around with.

It is him singing. He's using a pitch shifter on his voice. Which is an effect used in post production once the vocals have been recorded. Like you would've guessed it can be used to raise the pitch (sound) of someones voice hence why he sounds female or used to lower the pitch (sound) of someones voice.
