I'd say it's only true for In a Perfect World. None of the next albums hold a candle to it or Coldplay in general.

Almost forgot how good they were back in 2013. They seriously still have nice songwriting skills especially for song melodies but the productions since their second LP are kinda mediocre. All they need is a great producer to make an effort.

Ugh, this band frustrates me. They show some real promise on certain tracks (Lose Your Mind, Take Control, Play the Game, Pray, and After the Fall come to mind, and All I Want certainly isn't a bad song either, although overexposed), but In a Perfect World was "sort of good" at best, and Coming Up for Air is, apart from the very occasional bright spot, a stadium rock car crash. I don't think they'll ever make an album that is a great listen from beginning to end, and doesn't just sound like a record from your friendly neighbourhood Coldplay ripoff, but I still sincerely hope they do; again, Kodaline can write a great song — they just hardly ever do it.
