jackson is really a stunning emotional experience for me because it kind of sums up everything that makes car wheels such a wonderful thing: it's nostalgia of the past (what motivates her journey, possibly a failed relationship), of the present (the journey, its planning, the cities, the roads, she's always moving and won't stop until jackson, and the song ends before she gets to jackson) and of the future ("all the way to", "once i get" & all the so antecipated obliviousness: "i don't think i'll miss you much/feel an urge/et al."). well, i don't think there's a more true-to-life way of facing things. and, well, it seems exactly like a life-changing song. you just have to pick yourself up and race among the ruins.

a parte inicial/instrumental de "jackson" a coloca mais perto de mim. nao sei explicar muito bem. é uma belíssima música de encerramento do álbum, mas eu nunca sonharia em chorar ouvindo-a porque é uma cançao de intensa, palpitante lucidez (e isso enseja algum distanciamento). ela olha pro passado (o relacionamento frustrado), pro presente (pras cidades, pra estrada, pro planejamento de uma jornada) e pro futuro (projeçoes de esquecimento, "i don't think i'll feel the urge/miss you much/etc."). sao radiografias sentimentais em geografias particulares.
