The Meat Puppets bring in the 90s in style. These guys were one of the most consistent bands in the Alternative Rock scene of the 80s and 90s despite all the drugs. They didn't make a single record I'd consider less than good with their original lineup, and most of them are very good/great. This one's one of the better ones, I think -- terrific songwriting and big league production/engineering thanks to moving to a major. Probably the best of their London Records albums, although I also liked No Joke! quite a bit.

Joe Satriani style production? This sounds more like Jane's Addiction to me... actually, didn't Dave Jerden engineer this? Or was that Too High to Die?

This really deserves to be considered an essential 90s alternative album. And it's a true album, too - flows all the way through quite nicely.
