The Melvins have never, in my opinion, released a truly great live record. They've been plagued by poor recordings, subpar performances (how does a band that's so awesome live manage to record bad performances for live records? I have no idea), bad song choices and even baffling and off-putting format choices (the Live at Slim's 8-track, anyone?). Sugar Daddy Live is, along with The End, the closest they've come to releasing a live album worthy of their name.
