I love this song so much, its one of the best prog epics of all time, I'm so in awe of it and love singing it and it makes me feel better and it doesn't feel anything like 30 minutes long at all. The new album is total mind blowing killer stuff but this is still my favourite song from them

After lifting you to such transcendent, life-affirming heights (for over 30 minutes!), at the end they gently set you down in the same pastoral meadow where Yes landed Close to the Edge in 1972. Both life-affirming epics share that same emotional arc: premonition, transcendence, immanence. It's the feeling of almost unbearable joy at being alive, in spite of (or perhaps because of?) the knowledge that it's only for a little while. It's not mindless, ignorant pleasure, nor self-pity for our own mortality, but the joy of experiencing life for what it is: dancing in the lengthening shadows. Blomljud is certainly is best album -- and OHotS the best track -- of the decade, if not the last 40 years.
