id wager most ppls first experience with surrealist music would probably be soundtracks for the blind, but i think stapleton is the real master of bringing auditory vivid nightmares to life. ive only been getting into his work as of recently after numerous failed previous attempts. i can safely say that now nww has rlly clicked. ive been rlly growing myself as an artist and as a fan of avant garde and forward thinking music, and i think that the latter is rlly helping with the former. it’s probably bc of my experience with dark ambient and noise that helped adjust me to this type of music. ive grown a real appreciation and respect for stapleton, im glad that the stars aligned to make such a project possible. many thanks for the inspiration, experiences, and nightmares 🫡

There needs to be more musicians like this guy. He takes surrealism to another level unlike any other artist out there and goes far beyond experimentation by pushing the definition of music to the fullest extent possible. Stapleton really is a genius and I'm glad he was able to express his ideas in a way no one else could for us to enjoy and appreciate it.

The godfather of experimentation and audial surrealism. I can't think of another single artist who's accomplished such an enigmatic, varied and interesting catalog of music. No one can get "weirder" than Stapleton.

Если послушать внимательно (больше двух альбомов) группу СаннО, то станет ясно, насколько они скучны и самоповторяемы, и что помимо четырёх, максимум - пяти альбомов, у них нечего слушать. Не говоря о повторном желании что-то переслушивать. Причём тут Nurse With Wound? Очень даже причём - один из реально хороших альбомов - та самая совместная работа NWW+SUNN (некоторые всерьёз уверены, что этот альбом - это МЭШАП, бля). Так что - для кого-то Стэплтон есть 'говнодел', а для кого-то - интуитивно-талантливый, трудолюбивый и ни разу не переоценённый (до сих пор, дада) творец в меру шумных звуковых ландшафтов

Наконец-то послушал все работы Степлтона, давно хотелось это сделать и не так всё страшно-то оказалось в итоге. Обвинения в однообразии абсолютно несправедливы, ну про это уже ниже писали, а что до невозможности слушать - по мне так абсолютно слушабельно (чего не скажешь о Вайтхаус или Мерцбоу, например), если есть желание окунуться в подобную музыку, то можно прямо по заветам дедушки Берроуза брать релизы и запускать в случайном порядке без опасений, у меня вполне себе заходит. Ну и минимум с десяток альбомов определяю в избранное для себя: A Sucked Orange, Sugar Fish Drink, Rock 'n'Roll Station, Alice the Goon, Crumb Duck, Man with the Woman Face, May the Fleas, Huffin' Rag Blues, Rat Tapes и Rupture.
