na versão em inglês, por volta de 3'14'', Arnaldo canta "Maybe I love you" ao invés de "Baby, I love you". Algo muito sutil. Logo depois, ele canta, normalmente, "Baby, I love you" e sua voz se sobrepõe a de Rita. Em seguida, ela diz "You do!", alegre, confirmando o que ele tinha acabado de dizer. Essa brincadeirinha entre os dois, no clima bossa-nova, é linda demais.

The first version is of Caetano Veloso and Gal Costa for the album "Tropicalia ou Panis Et Circencis". But the two versions is equal in quality, of Mutantes and Gal & Caê.

I don't think the english version is so wildly to be praised. It's kind of OK for any psychedelic trip circa 1968. But having first listened to the original, Caetano does it better in Portuguese and so did Os Mutantes. Nem a Carolina nem a Gasolina nem a Piscina nem a melhor cidade d'América do Sul eram fáceis de traduzir, but this verges on the nonsense onde o rídiculo encontra a perfeita melodia e harmonia de vozes. Mais que isso, internacionalizar a pura beleza da canção traduzindo? Acho válido, somente não acho bonito, menos ainda sublime. Me perdoem todos de um lado e do oposto, OK?

I still prefer the lyrichs in portuguese. But its sweet and soft in english. Rita is just awesome. And the whole band... fantastic...
