a jazz standard and bill evans composition...of course bill's rendition is definitive...but as usual...peterson's treatment becomes uniquely and outstandingly his own...a super sweet cover...!

and yes...it's a bummer that we later generations will never hear them...or any of the other "all-time-greats"...live...up close & personal...but luckily...we have some memorable recordings...that can give us an idea of the thrill it must have been...to see and hear the "greats" live on stage...

peterson was rightly nicknamed the maharajah (king) of the keyboard...and it is also true that pederson was one of the greatest jazz bassist ever...but ray brown...long-time musical cohort of peterson...takes my vote...as the #1 all-time greatest...classiest...most knowledgeable...and definitely the most generous...double bassist...ever...!

The King of Piano! We lost his Danish bassist Neil Orsted Pederson as well which is a bummer! He probably was one of the best bass player in the world if not the best!
