unfortunately due to the raft of fuck ups by the booker the band decided the tour had become untenable, so yes the tour is cancelled. From what the band have been told Toner Low will be playing the few shows that have been booked.

There are plans for the band to do a small tour around Europe in mid September. At present this includes Holland, Denmark, and Germany. Just waiting for confirmation about the last two or three dates.

You're talking about the show with Toner Low at De Vinger I'm guessing? That was a pretty cool show.

So the first part of the recording for Volume V is now done. Five songs were recorded three of which will only appear on the second 12" that will come with the diehard ltd edition presentation box. There are some vocals and guitar overdubs that require to be done as well as a full mix. These will hopefully be done in the next month and then it will go into production. Expect to have your minds blown away because this is going to be a very didfferent Pombagira beast from previous releases.

I am sorry, I read my statement again and it is easily misinterpreted. Well of course I cannot be 100% sure of how much money was made and distributed to the band at that date. I did not strictly talk about how many people were there (way more than just 4). Overall I just had the impression that most of the people that entered the venue were friends with the owner and did not pay (which I do not judge in any way - The owner appears to be a pretty cool guy). The show was awesome and in my opinion it deserved more attention than it got.

not strictly accurate when it comes to the DeVinger show in Den Haag. Turn out was good, and busy as it always is when the band play there. Not sure when you turned up to see them, but there were enough people there that you had to stand pretty close to their raging volume backline. But of course the band has had some low turn outs on the continent...4? That only ever happened once in Antwerp at some rock bar and there were 2!!!! But bad days as in the UK for shows inevitably fall on a sunday and a monday. But what is the point in playing live when very few actually get what the band are trying to do? It's a pointless endeavour

Okay, I was a bit too quick with my enthusiasm. "Our current stance of having "no plans to play live" comes from our frustration at not being able to play venues that can accommodate the size of backline we have. Accordingly we have come to realise that aching backs from carrying cabs up and down dimly lit stairs, poor PA systems and too often being expected to play for next to nothing really cancels out any joy we once had in playing live. Could we to reduce the backline down to something more manageable? In response we would ask whether the subtle elements of an orchestra can really be captured by one violin alone? So we will wait until next year before we consider a tour, thus allowing some breathing room for Volume V to seep into the public consciousness." I can fully understand their point. I saw them playing in The Hague last year and I think the audience comprised about 4 people (including me) who paid for the €4 ticket. A shame...

Pombagira will be heading back into the studio to record their fifth album very soon. Simply called Volume V this album will see the band picking up the pace while embracing the more washed atmospherics of classic acid rock. But never fear the new material is sounding heavier, noisier and more psyched out. Album will comprise of two songs Grave Cardinal and The Gift to Transgress. Plans are also afoot for the band to record a 3rd song Maleficia Lamiah which will be only made available in the ltd to 100 die hard album presentation box.

I lost track of these guys for a few years and now I've looked them up again they have two more albums! I need to get my grubby mitts on them and catch them at a show again.
