I used to listen to this song on the loudest volume as a kid when I was out bicyklin down the steep road and leves wiped my face as I flew by in what felt like hundred kilometers per hour. I felt immortal, and I loved it.

Well musically it's a simple I-V-vi-IV progression which is used in a lot of pop songs, also still nowadays. The thing that makes it a unique classic is John's brilliant Hendrix-like intepretation of that overused chord progression, and Anthony's personal yet relatable lyrics.
