I made it (so far) for six years past Red's life span. I have played trumpet for the last 55 years and never regreted my choice of instruments. At least Red Nichols never knew how his skills would deteriorate as he aged into his mid 60s. The ease and gentility Red could display was only surpassed by his drive. Wow.
