Listening through albums it really seems like this band doesnt have a grasp of its fanbase. Half of this is super produced poppy shit, the other half is really charged post punk? This band is so inconsistent it's frustrating

that's an interesting take on them... perhaps it's good they show a bit of variety throughout a set of songs? One could say that at least they haven't done a Bring Me The Horizon and completely changed direction from metal --> electropunk in the space of one album. I'd say it's good to have a diverse set of skills!

Yeah, I have no problems with variety! I appreciate that they're not a one trick pony band, but it's the actual production going from clean to lo-fi that feels so inconsistent. It's like they're aiming for two different fanbases.

They were VERY young during Emily's Army, a bunch of kids, they were still trying to find their sound, growing up with a lot of references.
