I saw someone complaining about how this song proliferates toxic attitudes towards consent. Hard to believe anyone can be that obtuse. Sebastian is essentially trying to save Ariel's life by singing this song, and Ariel has made it abundantly clear that she wants to be kissed. Despite that, Prince Eric actually doesn't kiss her anyway! Context, please, people, pay attention to context.
