Русские Sky из нулевых были топ. Нравятся все песни, их у них немного. Мальчик ищет маму, Под запретом, Судьба, Джульетта, Всё будет. Потом еще вокалистка попыталась сольным творчеством заниматься, записала два трека, но там всё уже не то... У Sky были одни из лучших текстов. Содержательные, философские, пронзительные.

Just been having a nice time relistening to the Sky 3, 4, and Cadmium albums. I got into Sky through the proggier, Francis Monkman stuff, but the band's jazzier later period via Steve Gray still turned out some classics, like 'Meheeco', 'Theme From Zed', 'Night', etc. It made for a nice Sunday afternoon's listening while I was doing other things, really suiting the mood.

Sky 2 makes me smile 😃

Sky (8 on the list) is pretty darn good disco funk from 79. I wish I could see their album cover, but it's the same album name as band 1 on the list of bands named Sky

The album "Sky's Violin, Vol. 6" was under "top recommendation" today in spotify for me. The first song (Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau) sounds already nice :-)

@CDPETE01 . . . I remember that Sky LP was incredibly popular at the time, particularly among hi-fi geeks, it was superb quality and was frequently used to show off expensive kit

I bought Sky2 for my dad for a birthday when I was 15,on vinyl and then a couple years back bought it on CD for him,again for a birthday,its a good album.

HURRRAAAAAAA !! Sky3 was one of my first LP's and is just the reason to look for a good enough phono player with USB. Still great music.

As I understand it, they are planning to use song fingerprinting to tell apart different artists with the same name They have been collecting this data for a while now, but all we have to show for it so far is artist/title auto-correction (little green star in your recent plays). It will probably take another major reorganization of the site before each band has its own page - for a start the URL structure doesn't support this at the moment.

Boy, it's ridiculous isn't it? I'm here because of the British Sky, but I'd like to pay my respects to the fans of all the various acts to call themselves Sky. Like spatuluk, I really wonder if lastfm is going to figure this one out, but until then, it's a bit of a laugh, you have to admit.

heh, there are at least 2 Russian projects named Sky: DnB & pop. heard one song of both and must say that they are not bad:)

Luckily for me, I like both the d'n'b Sky and the prog rock sky! :D As for multiple band name recognition, I dunno how last.fm will ever solve that.. it's a tricky one

@Blackadders - This John Williams IS the Jazz / Blues / Classical guitarist of the same name. But not, as you say, the Star Wars etc composer. I think 'John Williams' is the longest Wikipedia disambiguation page I've seen yet...

thers a dnb band named SKY in russia. so last.fm mixes those two. its funny tho. shame that last.fm cant figure out who is who :P

Coincidentally, you get the same problem with John Williams, the guitarist with Sky, as he shares his name with the film composer (Star Wars, etc) and a jazz/blues guitarist.

All bands should be separated somehow, no mtter how few plays. Isn't it Last.fm's wish to get ALL music on here eventually. Bit crap if bands are lumped together like this.

52,550 plays scrobbled on Last.fm (13th of July), why should we seperate those bands when they can't even pass a 100 000 plays? For your information, I'm a fan of the english 'Sky'.
